The rector of the Baku branch of the Moscow State University, the vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the head of the National Center after Nizami Ganjevi at the Oxford University from the Azerbaijan part, the chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the British Fund, studying Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, the Academician Nargiz Pashayeva was solemnly admitted, as a member of the Committee of benefactors of the Oxford University’s Chancellor, Lord Patten of Barnes.
The honored title was presented to her at the special annual event of the Committee, which took place for the 28th time this year on the 11th of October. Mrs. Nargiz Pashayeva has been the first Azerbaijani woman, who has became a member of the Committee of benefactors of the leading educational institution of the world and she was dressed in Oxford scarlet gown and cap with golden tuft.
This very day, the name of the British fund, studying Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, was memorized among names of the world-famous scientists, public figures and organizations on the memorial plate of the Clarendon arch. The tradition to memorize the names of partners of great value of the Oxford University on Clarendon arch exists from XIV century. The Arch opens the entrance to the Bodleian library, which is considered, as a heart of the university.
